On Tuesday, Oct. 5, the United Presbyterian Home’s therapy group in Washington made a presentation in the Campbell Room to 15 residents on Fall Prevention. Erin Kaufman and Kiley Roder shared a video titled “Falls Prevention a Guide to Those at Risk” created by NYC Health & Hospitals.
The therapy group also presented information on vestibular balance and inner issues. Residents were given an opportunity at the end of the presentation to take two different fall assessment tests to gauge their risk for falls. Several residents took advantage of the test options and all appreciated the informative presentation.
We want to congratulate three of our OJT students Greta Rothe, Brooke Stout and Kasen Baily, who are on Washington’s Homecoming Court.
The residents in Brownlee and Garrett enjoyed S’mores that they made. This brought back many memories for the group.
Halloween decorations were also completed and hung in their rooms. Starting to look like fall everywhere! Wheelchair rides are being enjoyed with the beautiful fall weather. The men of the group had a great time going on a bus ride to the country to view harvest taking place.
Lots and lots of discussion on memories of previous harvest. The ladies of the group enjoyed an afternoon together.
We would like to extend our sympathy to the family of Dorothy Soucek.
