The following are upcoming Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center (MVRBC) blood drives in the local area.
?The Henry County community will host a blood drive from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., on Monday, Nov. 16, at 1400 E. Washington St., inside the Meeting Room.

?Van Allen Elementary School will host a community blood drive from 3 to 6:30 p.m., on Wednesday, Nov. 18, at 801 E. Henry St., inside the music room.

?Danville High School/National Honor Society will host a community blood drive from 7 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, Nov. 18, at 419 N. Main St., inside the High School Gym.

Potential donors must be at least 17 years of age (16 with parental permission form available through www.bloodcenter.org) and weigh more than 110 pounds. A photo I.D. or MVRBC Donor Card is required to donate. For questions about eligibility, call the MVRBC at 800-747-5401.
Blood donation is a safe, simple procedure that takes about 45 minutes to one hour. Individuals with diabetes or controlled high blood pressure may be accepted as eligible donors.
MVRBC is the provider of blood and blood components to more than 90 hospitals in Illinois, Iowa, Missouri and Wisconsin. In the local area, MVRBC is the exclusive provider to Great River Health Systems and Henry County Health Center.
