The following are upcoming local Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center (MVRBC) blood drives happening in the local area:

The following are upcoming local Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center (MVRBC) blood drives happening in the local area:
?Mt. Pleasant Treatment Center will host a community blood drive from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., on Wednesday, Sept. 14, at 1200 E. Washington St., inside the Brown Room.
Presenting donors will be entered to win a six-inch sub sandwich donated by Subway.
?Mt. Pleasant REC Center will host a community blood drive from 2:30 p.m. to 6 p.m., on Friday, Sept. 16, at 200 E. Monroe St., inside the Meeting Room.
Presenting donors will be entered to win a one-month membership.
?The Henry County community will host a blood drive from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., on Tuesday, Sept. 20, at 1400 E. Washington St., inside the Meeting Room.
?The Henry County community will host a blood drive from 2 to 6 p.m., on Monday, Sept. 26, at 1400 E. Washington St., inside the Meeting Room.
Potential donors must be at least 17 years of age (16 with parental permission form available through www.bloodcenter.org) and weigh more than 110 pounds. A photo I.D. is required to donate.

Blood donation is a safe, simple procedure that takes about 45 minutes to one hour. Individuals with diabetes or controlled high blood pressure may be accepted as eligible donors.
MVRBC is the provider of blood and blood components to more than 90 hospitals in Illinois, Iowa, Missouri and Wisconsin. In the local area, MVRBC is the exclusive provider to Great River Health Systems and Henry County Health Center.
