UPDATE: Due to impending bad weather, the legislative briefing scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 18 has been canceled.

The Fairfield Area Chamber of Commerce will provide Jefferson County residents the opportunity to share their views with state lawmakers during a series of four public forums during the Iowa legislative session, the first of which is Saturday morning, Jan. 18.
The event is from 7:30-9 p.m. at Boarders Inn & Suites by Cobblestone, formerly the site of Fairfield Best Western.
Legislators will provide a brief update followed by an open question-and-answer session moderated by Chamber Chief Executive Officer, Darien Sloat. Coffee and donuts will be provided to participants.
The following legislators have been invited to the forum:
' Sen. Rich Taylor (D-Mt. Pleasant)
' Sen. Mariannette Miller-Meeks (R-Ottumwa)
' Rep. Jeff Shipley (R-Fairfield)
' Rep. Joe Mitchell (R-Mt. Pleasant)
The legislative briefing is the third Saturday of every month from January through April. The other dates are Feb. 15, March 21 and April 18.
