Van Buren County residents to line Des Moines River Bridge for No Kings rally

KEOSAUQUA — Residents of Van Buren County and surrounding areas will gather on Saturday, Oct. 18, for one of thousands of No Kings rallies opposing threats to democracy.
Like-minded people, regardless of political affiliation, are invited to hold signs and wear costumes on Keosauqua’s Des Moines River bridge from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Participants will stand on the sidewalks behind barriers.
The peaceful, nonpartisan event will emphasize that the president must answer to citizens and to the law. Millions of Americans are expected to participate in similar events across Iowa and the nation.
