Van Buren, Pekin advance in SEISC tournament
The Van Buren and Pekin volleyball teams have earned spots in the Southeast Iowa Super Conference tournament finals after finishing runner-up at their respective first round sites Thursday.

The Van Buren and Pekin volleyball teams have earned spots in the Southeast Iowa Super Conference tournament finals after finishing runner-up at their respective first round sites Thursday.
They will be joined by Mediapolis, Danville, New London, IMS, Holy Trinity and Winfield-Mount Union in the championship round. The games will take place Saturday at Southeastern Community College in West Burlington. Start time is at 5 p.m.
The No. 5 seed Warriors open the final round against Winfield-Mount Union, which has grabbed a three seed. The winner of the matchup will face the winner of IMS vs. Holy Trinity in the semifinals.
Sixth-seeded Pekin has a first match date with No. 4 seed New London. The winner of the match will play either Mediapolis or Danville.
