Shirley VanDee moved to Richland 13 years ago to take the job of parish life coordinator for Ss. Joseph and Cabrini Parish. During that time, she became a valuable and treasured member of the Richland, Pleasant
Plain, and Brighton communities. In addition to being a kind and caring pastoral minister to her church, Shirley was extremely involved with many civic organizations such as Lions Club, Community Club, Women's Club, Card Club, and the Pekin Ministerial Association.
At the age of 85, Shirley has decided to retire and spend time with her five children, spouses, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She is moving to Williamsburg in January.
Due to COVID, her friends and family are unable to give her a proper 'send-off”. Instead, they are hosting a card shower for Shirley to thank her for life of service and wish her well as she begins her next chapter.
Cards may be sent to: PO Box 130 306 W. Main St. in Richland, IA 52585; or to PO Box 654 503 S Walnut St. in Williamsburg, IA 52361.
