The organizers of Denmark Heritage Days are preparing for this popular event which will be June 2, 3, 4 at Starr Park, in Denmark.
Each year, there are vendors and activities at Denmark Heritage Days. The event originated as a two-day event, but has since grown to a three-day affair.
This year, there will be town-wide yard sales on Friday and Saturday. Tractors and gas engines will be registered beginning at 7 a.m., on Friday. Also this year, the Historical Society Museum will be open in the basement of the Farmer Savings Bank on Friday.
On Saturday, there will be a quilt show at the church, and custom cars and pickups at the park. Games and pedal tractor pulls for kids will also be held.
On Sunday afternoon, there will be Church in the Park, a ham ball dinner at the church, and a Bill Riley Talent Competition in the afternoon.
Other daily events include a flea market, book sale, tractors and gas engines on display, a gas engine swap meet, inflatable football toss and activity trailer. Free train rides and wagon rides will also be available.
Educational displays from Iowa State University, Iowa Corn Producers and the Department of Natural Resources will also set up in the park.
Vendors are encouraged to contact Jan at 319-470-6231 prior to the event to reserve a space. Vendors who specialize in crafts, collectibles, antiques, gas engines, farm machinery parts, farm tools and artistic items are welcome.
Vendors must supply their own equipment such as tables, chairs, tents and so on. There is a limited amount of electrical hook-ups. Spaces are free for educational exhibits from non-profit groups.
For vendor applications and additional information, call 319-470-8670, 319-470-0050, or 319-470-6231.
