Veteran goes on Honor Flight
Jack Moore of Brighton went on the Eastern Iowa Honor Flight to Washington, D.C., on Tuesday, May 19. The group of 84 veterans included 77 Korean War-era veterans, four from World War II, and three Vietnam-era veterans along with helpers and tour guides.
The flight took off from the Cedar Rapids airport at 7 a.m. Jack was the only local veteran on the flight. This flight is free for veterans thanks to donors. ...

Jack Moore of Brighton went on the Eastern Iowa Honor Flight to Washington, D.C., on Tuesday, May 19. The group of 84 veterans included 77 Korean War-era veterans, four from World War II, and three Vietnam-era veterans along with helpers and tour guides.
The flight took off from the Cedar Rapids airport at 7 a.m. Jack was the only local veteran on the flight. This flight is free for veterans thanks to donors. Along with stops at war memorials, the group also saw the changing of the guard at Arlington Cemetery.
A group of family and friends was on hand to welcome Jack back when the group arrived back at Cedar Rapids at 10:45 p.m. that evening.
