St. Mary Catholic Church continues its Lenten video series, ?Catholicism,? with the Rev. Robert Barron, who narrates from 15 countries and more than 50 locations.
Episode 2 will be presented from 3-5 p.m. Sunday in Saint Mary Parish Hall. Each episode is an hour, and a discussion follows.
Subsequent episodes in the 10-part series will be shown each Sunday in Lent. The remaining episodes will be shown in the months following Easter. It is not necessary to view the episodes in any particular order.
Episode 2, ?Happy Are We: The Teachings of Jesus,? looks at:
? The revelation of Jesus as God, accompanied by an invitation to a new way of life, explained in the teachings of Jesus.
? To every generation, the words of Jesus have proven fascinating, disorienting, sometimes confounding, deeply transformative and always unforgettable.
Barron highlights the Beatitudes, the path of non-violence and lessons of forgiveness, care for the poor and individual?s relationship with God as presented in the parables. Jesus? teachings are illuminated during Barron?s pilgrimages to Poland, Germany, Spain and New York City. Commentaries at these sites also show how the Catholic church is a living culture.
Barron also can be heard online at www.relevantradio.com from 8:30-9 a.m. and 7:30-8 p.m. on Sundays; or for more information, visit www.wordonfire.org.
