WACO basketball teams swept by Danville on road

DANVILLE ? The WACO basketball teams were in Danville on Friday night for their first SEISC South Division doubleheader of the year. The girls? team fell 63-27 in their contest and the boys dropped their opener 86-57.
The Warrior girls had a rough first half that led to the loss. Danville outscored WACO 21-3 in the first quarter and 19-7 in the second quarter to take a commanding 30-10 lead into halftime.
The Warriors put up a better fight in the second half. Danville won the third quarter 15-8, but WACO outscored the Bears 9-8 in the fourth. The Bears led 63-27 when the final buzzer sounded.
The boys? game got off to a frenetic pace, as WACO hung with the high-scoring Bears throughout the first half. Danville won the first quarter 22-18 and the second quarter 23-18 to take a 45-36 lead into halftime.
The third quarter doomed the Warrior boys. Danville took the third quarter 27-9 to stretch their lead to 72-45. WACO was unable to come back in the fourth quarter and the Bears completed the sweep, 86-57.
The Warrior girls fell to 0-2 with the loss and the boys dropped to 0-1 to start the season. Both WACO teams will host Holy Trinity Catholic on Friday, Dec. 1, with the girls tipping things off at 6 p.m.
