Zoey Dennler and two other WACO High School Seniors, Wyatt Dennis and Brendan Hudson, were awarded the first in school history Iowa Degrees through FFA.
This is the highest degree that the state can bestow on FFA members. These members have participated in many events and put many dedicated hours into SAE (Supervised Ag Experience) projects. They will officially receive their honors at the State Convention in April.
Zoey's SAE project was beef cattle, she raised bucket bottle calves and worked with her horse. Hudson and Dennis completed their SAE in turf and grass management and Dennis also in ag mechanics. They kept track of hours and money they spent, as well as money they received from sales to be eligible.
This week is FFA week at WACO High School. This includes dress up days and they will end the week by driving tractors to school on Thursday.
Zoey was also High Point Youth and rode the High Point Pony through the Lake Darling Saddle Club in Brighton. She received a customized belt buckle at the year end awards that were held on February 18th.
Zoey is the daughter of Darren and Karen Dennler of Crawfordsville and plans to attend Iowa State University and major in Agricultural Engineering.
