Walnut Ridge Workers hold Christmas party

Walnut Ridge Workers 4-H Club and Lockridge Clover Kids held a Christmas party at 1 p.m. Dec. 18 at Lockridge Senior Center.

The club members made Christmas cards for the senior center participants out of construction paper and various craft supplies.

Everyone brought a covered dish to share for a potluck lunch. Gifts were exchanged.

The club members and parents played Pin the Nose on Rudolph, bingo and Who Done It. Prizes were given to winners.

The next club meeting will be at 2 p.m. Jan. 22.

Registration starts for 4-H leaders? conference

Registration is under way for a 4-H is Fun Leader?s Conference set for March 31 at the Indian Hills Community College campus in Ottumwa.

The conference begins with registration at 8:45 a.m., and the day concludes with door prizes at 2:30 p.m.

Some of the breakout sessions 4-H volunteers from around southeast Iowa may attend include 4-H Online Fear Factor Challenge, 4-H 101, Tools for Revving up Clover Kids and Essential Elements of 4-H.

The cost for the conference if registering before March 1 is $10. If registering between March 2-15, the cost is $15, and between March 16-30, the cost is $20.
