Walnut Ridge Workers, Clover Kids meeting Sunday
The regular meeting of the Walnut Ridge Workers 4-H Club and Lockridge Clover Kids was Nov. 20 at Lockridge Senior Center.
The meeting was called to order by Lewis Thomes at 2 p.m. Roll call was answered by seven members. Three Clover Kids and four visitors were present. Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. The treasurer?s report was given.

Walnut Ridge Workers, Clover Kids meeting Sunday
The regular meeting of the Walnut Ridge Workers 4-H Club and Lockridge Clover Kids was Nov. 20 at Lockridge Senior Center.
The meeting was called to order by Lewis Thomes at 2 p.m. Roll call was answered by seven members. Three Clover Kids and four visitors were present. Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. The treasurer?s report was given.
Some of the remaining Watkins orders were handed out. Others on back order will be in around the middle of December.
Favorites cards were passed out to all members present. They filled them out and then names were drawn for a gift exchange at the Christmas party at the next meeting. The gift limit is $10. Members also signed up for potluck food. Reminders will be sent out.
Beef weigh-in was at 9 a.m. Dec. 4 at the fairgrounds.
The meeting was adjourned by Taylor Hudson. Teresa Hanshaw provided refreshments.
Stations were set up to make a tissue-paper leaf or do leaf and bug rubbings.
Teresa Hanshaw brought her laptop computer so members could do online enrollment.
The next meeting will be the Christmas party and potluck at 1 p.m. Sunday.
Scholarships available
JOHNSTON ? Iowa Corn Growers Association and Iowa Corn Promotion Board are offering the Iowa Corn Future of Agriculture scholarships to aid in the development of future talent for the Iowa agriculture industry.
This year, Iowa Corn will award 10 scholarships to undergraduate and graduate students who are pursuing a degree in the 2012-13 school years.
The Iowa Corn Future of Agriculture Scholarship program will award five $500 first-year scholarships and five $500 upperclassman scholarships for individuals who are pursuing a degree in agriculture or an agriculture related field. Applicants also must either be a member of ICGA or a dependent of a member.
First-year scholarship applicants must be entering their first undergraduate year at an accredited junior college, college or university. Upperclassman scholarship applicants must be entering at least their second year at an accredited junior college or university.
Scholarship applications are available online at www.iowacorn.org/scholarship or by requesting one via email at corninfo@iowacorn.org. Applications must be postmarked by Feb. 3.
