Ware Hall Taylor, 89, of West Burlington, died on Wednesday, April 26, 2017, at the Danville Care Center, in Danville.
Visitation will be from 1 until 2 p.m., on Monday, May 1, 2017, where the family will receive friends at Prugh-Thielen Funeral Home. The funeral service for Taylor will be held at 2 p.m., on Monday, May 1, 2017, at Prugh-Thielen Funeral Home, with Rev. Father Bill Roush officiating. Full military honors will be rendered by the Burlington Area Veterans Honor Guard. A time of food and fellowship will be held in the community room at Prugh-Thielen Funeral Home following the service. Burial will be in Sharon Cemetery in Farmington at 4:30 p.m.

Taylor was born on Dec. 19, 1927, in Mt. Pleasant, the son of Ware S. and Ruth Hall Taylor. He graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School in 1945. He attended Drake University with a B.A. Degree in Business Administration. On Aug. 17, 1955, he married Theresa Beach, in Tucson, Ariz. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving on the U.S.S. Navy Block Island ship as an Aviation Electronics Technician.
In 1950, he started farming and continued to farm for 45 years.
He enjoyed square dancing, playing cards, traveling with his wife and bicycling with his family.
Taylor is survived by his wife, Theresa; two daughters, Cheryl Taylor, of Las Vegas, Nev.; and Barbara McKasson, of West Burlington; two granddaughters; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Mary Jean (Molly) Grove.
