Washington Area Performing Arts and Events Center Annual Talent Show

The Washington Area Performing Arts and Events Center Advisory Committee invites the public to join in their talent search for the upcoming event, 'In the Spotlight Talent Show” coming Saturday, Jan. 19, at 7 p.m. The Performing Arts Center is a state-of-the art auditorium which opened in 2015 and is attached to the new Washington High School. One recent performer called the Performing Arts Center 'The Jewel of Southeast Iowa.” According to others, the auditorium acoustics rival professional theaters.
This year's In the Spotlight Show managers are looking for performers of all ages: singers, dancers, magicians, actors, comedians, gymnasts, beat boppers, instrumentalists, etc. They encourage area students involved in speech, drama and music groups, as well as area dance and tumbling students to participate. The WAPAEC Advisory Committee is also challenging residents of the Halcyon House and the UP Home to share their talents this year.
There is no registration fee but only 25 entries can be accepted. Prizes include first, second and third place, as well as The Judges' Choice Award, The People's Choice Award and many more. Judges are local professional performers, instructors, or talent scouts.
Performers may register online @www.WashingtonAuditorium.org. Because of the 25-act limit, performers should register as soon as possible.
All proceeds will go to support the Washington Area Performing Arts and Events Center.
