Washington brings home the gold from districts
The Southeast District FFA Convention was held Saturday, March 7, at Williamsburg High School. Thirty-seven chapters from southeast Iowa were represented, and over 200 FFA members participated.
From Washington, 16 members competed in various Leadership Career Development Events (CDE). Results are as follows.

The Southeast District FFA Convention was held Saturday, March 7, at Williamsburg High School. Thirty-seven chapters from southeast Iowa were represented, and over 200 FFA members participated.
From Washington, 16 members competed in various Leadership Career Development Events (CDE). Results are as follows.
McKenna Brinning, daughter of Shane and Kathleen Brinning made District Officer ballot and received Gold on her Secretary?s Book, which will advance to state competition in Ames on April 20. Additionally she earned the Gold Emblem ranking on her Chapter Test.
Gabe Greiner, son of Shawn and Heather Greiner, earned Gold in Extemporaneous Speaking, and will also compete at State FFA Convention.
Libby Schnicker, daughter of Perry Schnicker and Melinda Schnicker competed in the Treasurer?s Book contest, and received Gold and her book will compete at the state level. Additionally Schnicker was Gold in the Chapter Test competition.
The Washington FFA Conduct of Meetings team received the Gold Emblem rating; members are as follows: President - Morgan Brinning, Shane and Kathleen Brinning, Vice President - Michaela Hoffman , Clinton Hoffman and Connie Hoffman-Svenby, Secretary - Jacob Hall, Julie Pohren and Greg Hall, Treasurer - Cole Dallmeyer Jan and Kurt Dallmeyer, Reporter - Jameson Spenner, Joanne and Robert Spenner, Sentinel - Tucker Renoux Troy and Shelly Renoux, Adviser - Tanner Murphy Pam and Rick Murphy. Macy Marek, daughter of Tim and Heather Marek, received a silver in Public Speaking. Addie Pacha, daughter of Kerrie Willis and Curt Pacha, received a silver on her Reporter?s Scrapbook, and Gold on her Chapter Test. Makenzi Marek, daughter of Heather and Tim Marek, received a Silver in Ag. Sales. Competing in the Chapter test was Emily Hora, daughter of Brian and Theresa Hora, who received a Bronze. Kristen Twinam, daughter of Paulette and Lane Twinam, received a Bronze in the Greenhand Test.
These were Leadership CDEs, so they improved members? leadership and teamwork skills. Congrats to Washington FFA for bringing home the Gold!!
