Amit Peled, an Israeli-born cellist, is acclaimed as one of the most exciting instrumentalists on the concert stage today.
He has performed in many of the world's major concert halls. Peled is a professor at the Peabody Conservatory of Music of the Johns Hopkins University and he plays a rare cello ca. 1689. He is an advocate of breaking the boundaries between performers and the public and tries to share classical music with wider audiences. His program is titled CELLOBRATION, and includes familiar classical pieces as well as one or two of a lighter nature.
The concert is sponsored by the Washington Concert Association and will be held at the Washington Community Theater on Monday, Nov. 10, at 7:30 p.m. This is part of the association's 2014-15 concert season. Tickets are available at the door and high school students and younger are free. For questions, contact Cheryl at 319-863-3132.
