Washington County 4-H Communications Night held

The Washington County 4-H Communications Night was held on Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at the Washington County Fairgrounds. Sixty 4-H’ers gave educational presentations and six participated in the extemporaneous speaking division. 4-H prides itself on developing good communicators. This is one activity to build those skills.

During the Extemporaneous Speaking contest participants draw a topic, have 30 minutes to write a 4-6 minute speech, and then deliver it to an audience. Alex Murphy of the Washington Go-Getters and Zoey Dennler of the Horse and Pony 4-H Club were selected to represent Washington County in this division at the Iowa State Fair.
