Washington County 4-H Meats team named champion
The Washington County 4-H Meats team was named Champion Team in the annual Iowa 4-H Meats Evaluation contest on the Iowa State Campus in Ames on Aug. 29. Members of the team are: Logan Sieren, Erin Chalupa, Morgan Brinning and Makenzi Marek. Individually, Sieren was second, Brinning-Third, Chalupa - fourth and Marek was eleventh. The Washington County 4-H Meats team was named Champion Team in the annual Iowa 4-H Meats Evaluation contest on the Iowa State Campus in Ames on Aug. 29. Members of the team are: Logan Sieren, Erin Chalupa, Morgan Brinning and Makenzi Marek. Individually, Sieren was second, Brinning-Third, Chalupa - fourth and Marek was eleventh. Teams from five counties competed in the event. The 4-H team will represent Iowa at a national event in either Denver or Kansas City. Mr. Irv Meier coaches the team. The event included the following areas: Carcass, wholesale and retail judging, Oral Reasons and Retail Cuts Identification.
