Washington County Cattlemen’s Association has opportunities for area teens and young adults

The Washington County Cattlemen’s Association has the three following opportunities for area teens and young adults.
BEEF QUEEN AND PRINCESS
We will be selecting a Beef Queen and Princess. Requirements include an interest in beef cattle production, parents being involved with beef production, a willingness to promote beef as well as attend a school in the Washington County area. Girls between the ages of 14-18 can apply. I have included an application form.

WCCA SCHOLARSHIP
We will be offering up to a $2,000 scholarship to a graduating senior. Requirements include being a Washington County resident, parents being a Washington County Cattlemen’s member or if living outside the county, the applicant’s parents must be WCCA members. The award recipient is majoring in an agricultural field. I have included an application.

YOUNG RANCHERS GRANT APPLICATION
Washington County Cattlemen will be offering up to a $2,500 grant to a graduating high school senior or returning college student who is starting an operation or returning to the farm. This grant is intended to help a young cattle producer offset costs associated with starting or expanding a beef enterprise. Please send this application to anyone that would benefit from this opportunity.
Requirements:
-Applicant must be a member of Washington County Cattlemen’s Association. If applicant lives outside the county (i.e. in college), his/her parent(s) must be WCCA members.
-Applicant must be no younger than a graduating high school senior and no older than 25.
-Applicant must use funds for costs directly related to starting a beef enterprise. (i.e. breeding stock, fencing, handling equipment, feed equipment, shelter, etc.)
-College graduation and/or college experience or degree is NOT required.
-Applicant is encouraged to volunteer with WCCA board on future endeavors.
