The Washington County Corn Growers are offering a $500 scholarship to a high school student graduating in 2021. To be eligible, the student must be a resident of Washington County, with plans to enter an accredited program with a minimum completion time of two years.
The application does require that student to explain how his or her choice of career will relate to the corn industry. For example, a student majoring in food sciences, environmental science or engineering, will need to relate their course of student and career choices back to the agriculture industry.
The scholarship is not restricted to students majoring in an agriculture field. Students must be a resident of Washington County. The deadline to apply is March 12.
