Washington County Extension and Outreach inspires future veterinarians
Vet Science Day Camp was offered in Kalona to empower youth to dive into caring for animals both large and small.
Students learned the difference between digestive systems, how to give over-the-counter injections, residues leaving the body, and how to detect sickness in animals. The day was filled with experimentsand feed label identifications, and consisted of interactions with real animals in the afternoon.

Youth volunteers included: Amanda Pfeiffer, Kitty Conway, Gracie Greiner, and Jacob Leonard.
