Washington County Fair Spring Tag Orders & Pick Up Process
N/A
Apr. 27, 2020 5:40 pm
Due to COVID-19, spring county fair weigh-ins have been cancelled, and the Washington County ISU Extension Office is closed to the public until further notice. This requires alternate methods of tagging 4-H livestock with a critical deadline of May 1.
Families must place an online ear tag order to reserve tags for pickup. This will apply to any livestock needing 4-H tags this spring (Bucket Bottle, Breeding Beef, Dairy Cattle, Goats, Sheep, State Fair Swine ). Tags will be available for a no contact pickup outside the front door of the Extension Office. If you do not own a standard ear tagger, those can also be borrowed. An email will be sent to confirm tags are ready for pickup.
Pickup date selection will be made during the online order. Options will include: Mondays and Thursdays from May 4-21 from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.
Livestock exhibitors should read about tag fees and other nomination expectations in the April/May 4-H Newsletter at https://www.extension.iastate.edu/washington/page/member-info
**NEW for 2020 Goat/Sheep**
Families are required to enter all sheep and meat goats into 4hOnline. Photo uploads are also required to 4hOnline by June 1 of the ear tag in the animal's ear with full body side views. The Extension Office can offer assistance with this uploading if needed. FFA exhibitors will need to email these images to FFA advisor or amygreen@iastate.edu by June 1.
