Washington County ISU Extension will close to foot traffic beginning Friday

The Washington County ISU Extension and Outreach Office is closing to the public beginning Friday, March 20. Staff will be working to cover essential business duties on a rotating basis, however, the office will be closed for face-to-face contact until further notice. Services may be conducted through telephone at 319-653-4811 or through staff email addresses, which may be found on the website: www.extension.iastate.edu/washington.
The Washington County Extension Office's Commercial Pesticide Applicator Continuing Instruction Courses (CIC) that were scheduled for reshows during the week of March 23 have been postponed. The reshow week will be rescheduled later this year for the spring Commercial Pesticide courses for the following categories: Commercial Ag Weed, Insect, and Plant Disease Management (1A, 1B, 1C, 10); Seed Treatment (4, 10); Ornamental and Turf Applicators (3O, 3T, 3OT, 10); Certified Handlers, and Aerial Applicators (11, 10) release is currently postponed. The fall Commercial Pesticide CIC schedule has not changed as of this date.
Commercial pesticide applicators must attend continuing instruction annually in order to maintain their certification. Instruction must be completed by December 31 each year. Applicators who have questions about the CIC schedule may call the Washington County Extension Office at 319-653-4811.
Washington County Master Gardeners have cancelled the meeting and program which was to be held March 24. The program was scheduled to be Ron & Carol Wehr of Wehr Honey Farm near Keota. If a reschedule date is possible, announcements will be shared in the future.
