Washington FFA attends district convention

Montezuma ? Washington FFA members participated in a variety of career development events and one student ran for district office.
Students participated in Ag Issues, Job Interview, Parliamentary Procedure, Reporter?s Scrapbook, Secretary?s Book, and Treasurer?s Book.
The Ag Issues Team received a bronze merit for a presentation on the topic of horse processing. Washington FFA members who participated were Alexander Guzman, Natally Guzman, Leah Evans, Ellie Todd, Austin Stalder, and Taylor Northup. Leah Marek participated in the Job Interview competition and received a silver merit. The job she interviewed for was an animal husbandry specialist. Parliamentary Procedure received a gold merit and advanced to state convention. Members who participated are Sam Reed, Morgan Brinning, Gracie Greiner, Ellie Bell, and Sophie Bell. Sophie Bell also submitted the reporter?s scrapbook and received a gold merit. Gracie Greiner submitted the secretary?s book and received a silver merit, and Hailey Shultz submitted the treasurer?s book and received a bronze merit.
In addition to the Career Development Events one student ran for district office. Sophie Bell ran for South Sub-district vice president and came up short of winning after a tie-breaking vote.
