Washington FFA Chapter Places 6th

The Washington FFA was named sixth place team in the Iowa FFA Nursery Landscape Career Development Event held at Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids. Members of the team are (left to right): Libby Schnicker, daughter of Perry and Lottie Schnicker, Makenna Burdock, daughter of Edward and Carol Burdock; and Chloe Schlatter daughter of Angie and Jerry Guengerich.

FFA teams from across Iowa participated in the Nursery Landscape Career Development Event (CDE) designed to provide students an opportunity to display their agricultural knowledge and skills in this area. The event consisted of the following: general knowledge exam, landscape estimation practicum, customer service activity, identification of nursery materials (plants, disorders, equipment and supplies), and situation assessment and solution.
