The Washington girls? basketball team won its first game on the road against Eddysville-Blakesburg Tuesday night.
The final score was 60 to 54.
?The kids are very excited following the win and I think proved a lot to themselves about what they are capable of,? said Washington girls? basketball head coach Jordan Bentley.
Washington junior Sarah Nacos led the team with 23 points. Morgan Brinning followed with nine points and Addison Six scored eight points.
?I thought overall we played very well,? Bentley added. ?We shot the ball well early in the game and [that] gave us a 19-point lead that half.?
There are some things Bentley saw the players need to improve on before their next game.
?We need to work on cleaning up little things and staying focused for the entire game,? Bentley said. ?We need to stay out of foul trouble and keep adjusting our defense throughout the game.?
They will play at 3 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 26, in a scrimmage against WACO in the gym at the high school followed by the ?Living the Dream? alumni game.
Washington will take the court against Burlington at Burlington High School, Tuesday, Nov. 29.
