Parents of young children, are you and your kids up for a fun and engaging challenge? Starting this month, we offer a program for kids who haven’t entered kindergarten yet.
It doesn’t matter if your child is 3 years old or only 3 months, all pre-kindergarten is welcome to join! The “1,000 Books Before Kindergarten” challenge is a unique first to come from our newest service, Beanstack.
This event will help your child get a head start on reading before school even begins! Your child/children can earn fun badges and prizes for completing marked goals. 1000 books may seem daunting, but do not fret! The challenge does not have a deadline, so you can spread out your books through multiple weeks or months.
To start you and your child/children’s journey, ask a library staff member regarding the event to register. We’ll gladly hand you a sheet detailing further about the program and either a physical book tracker or a Beanstack online signup sheet (or both if you’d like!).
Unfortunately, you cannot enter children who have already started kindergarten, though you can still use Beanstack to help track reading progress. Look out for more challenges for others to come with Beanstack!
