Washington library’s Summer Reading runs through June
May. 18, 2021 10:03 am
Washington Public Library’s Summer Reading for grades K-12 will run through the month of June.
The theme this year is "Reading Colors Your World."
Youth services librarian Jenisa Harris remarked, “I have a lot of fun activities planned. We will be meeting across the street at Central Park.”
At this time there is no online registration. The library is updating its website and doesn't have that available at this time. You can register, in person at the library, by phone or email. You can email Harris at jenisa.harris@washington.lib.ia.us.
If you register by phone or email, you will need to stop into the library to pick up reading logs and calendars.
The dates for the library’s free family programs are:
Tuesday, June 15: Absolute Science Bubble Show at 10 a.m. at the square (no registration required).
Tuesday, June 22: Magician Mikayla Oz at 10:30 a.m. at the square (no registration required).
Tuesday, July 6: Musician Mr. Taylor Sings at 10 a.m., at the square (no registration required).
On Thursday, June 10, from 10 a.m. to noon, the library will host “Chalk the Walk-Town Square Edition.” Bring chalk and decorate the square.
“It will be fun for people to enjoy the artwork at farmers’ market that night,” said Harris. No registration is required.
