Washington native John Flannery performs piano recital

Augustana College junior John Flannery, of Washington, performed a piano recital at the Denkmann Memorial Building's Wallenberg Hall on March 4.
The recital included works by Flannery himself as well as Arvo Part, Charles Ives, and Astor Piazzolla.
Flannery, a piano performance and music composition major, was a winner of the annual Concerto Competition at Augustana in May 2022. In 2018, he won the Marilyn Minford McCoid Young Artist Competition and performed the first movement of Ravel's Piano Concerto in G with the Southeast Iowa Symphony Orchestra.
Known for sparking passionate curiosity, Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois, is an empowering home to explore over 90 areas of study. Augustana's innovative program, Augie Choice, transforms students into global citizens, thinkers and doers with a $2,000 grant to explore the world, complete an internship or conduct research with a professor.
