Washington student Anna Miller gets scholarship

Washington High School student Anna Miller will be awarded a $2,000 scholarship from the Grand Lodge of Iowa, Ancient Free and Accepted Masons.
Miller is one of 35 Iowa high school students selected to receive a scholarship from more than 260 applicants. The scholarships recognize students’ academic performance, community activities, leadership and financial need.
Since the program was started in 1970, the Grand Lodge of Iowa has awarded nearly $3.7 million in scholarships to nearly 2,500 students. This year, $65,000 in scholarships were awarded from an endowment fund established to recognize the accomplishments of young Iowans and to promote the education of future state leaders.
