Washington SWCD and Gerot family offer scholarship

The Washington Soil and Water Conservation District and the Dean Gerot family are co-sponsoring the district?s annual scholarship. Applications must be returned to the Washington Soil and Water District by Feb. 26, 2016.

The scholarships will be presented to Iowa high school seniors to be used for their first year of education on the college level while pursuing programs of study in any field of agriculture or natural resources.

The application chosen by the Washington Soil and Water District will be awarded a $1,000 scholarship and then submitted to the CDI Regional Director. Regional winners will each receive $600. Three scholarships will be awarded on the state level in the amounts of $4,000, $3,000, and $2,000.
