Washington Yard Waste Center open for residents’ use

The City of Washington's Waste Water Treatment Plant and Yard Waste Center is open from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday-Friday so Washington residents can drop off yard waste and tree trimmings.
The WWTP and YWC will have extended hours from 7-10 a.m. on Saturday mornings, Oct. 19, 26, Nov. 2, 9, 16 and 23.
The YWC doesn't accept lumber or materials of any type. Remember: 'If you didn't grow it, don't throw it!” Any questions can be directed to the WWTP office at 319-653-2638.
Use the Highway 1 entrance to access the WWTP and YWC. The South E Avenue entrance remains closed until further notice.
