Washington YMCA to host Kewash Half Marathon Saturday

The Washington YMCA's 7th annual Kewash Half Marathon, 10K and 5K run will be held on Saturday, Aug. 29, beginning at 7 a.m.

Due to the volume of runners, the City Council has granted permission to close some of the streets along the route for the runner's safety.

Street closures include:

' The West Main Street block between North Marion and North Avenue B (south of the County Courthouse) will be closed Friday afternoon the 28th through 11 a.m. the 29th. Residents are asked to take alternate routes and park on neighboring streets.

' West Main Street from N Marion to S. 2nd for east bound traffic Friday afternoon through 9 a.m. Saturday the 29th.

' W. Washington Boulevard from N. Marion to S. F Ave. from 7-10 a.m. on Saturday.

' S. 2nd Ave. from E. Main to W. 7th will be closed from 7-9 a.m. Saturday.
