Washington’s Dixon earns service cord, badge
Dec. 13, 2022 3:20 pm
Keysha Dixon of Washington found herself in elite company this year when she learned that she was the lone graduating senior at Iowa Wesleyan who met all the requirements for the Silver Service Cord and the Service Learning Microbadge.
Dixon completed 154 hours of serving during the 2021-22 academic year.
“Service Learning has always been a large part of the Iowa Wesleyan University experience,” stated a news release from Iowa Wesleyan University. “In the Fall of 2021, the Silver Service Cord and the Service Learning Microbadge were implemented to recognize students who serve and volunteer above and beyond their course requirements. To earn these honors at graduation, a student must complete a minimum number of service learning/volunteer hours outside of the classroom. Hours are accumulated over the semesters a student attends Iowa Wesleyan and must not all come from a single activity or organization.”
Iowa Wesleyan University - As Southeast Iowa's regional comprehensive university, Iowa Wesleyan University is a transformational learning community whose passion is to educate, empower and inspire students to lead meaningful lives and careers.
