Washington’s Horak wins scholarship from wild turkey federation

The Misty Morning Monarchs Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation in Washington County has announced that Evan Horak will receive the local $500 scholarship for 2020.
Evan is the son of Suzanne and Luke Horak and graduated in May from Washington High School. Luke is attending Iowa State University and will major in Mechanical Engineering.
This scholarship application opportunity is available to any high school senior from Washington County. The application must be submitted by Jan. 10. The local winner application is forwarded to State scholarship competition and possibly National scholarship competition.
The Misty Morning Monarchs Chapter works on projects that encourages providing and maintaining habitat for the Wild Turkey and other wildlife species in Iowa. This includes a fundraising banquet, educational opportunities, tree planting projects and promotion of mentoring opportunities for hunters to experience hunting or just to enjoy the presence of the wild turkey in Iowa.
