The Wayland High School class of 1948 celebrated their 70th reunion at the Frontier Cafe in Wayland on Sept. 7, at 11 a.m. The table was decorated with purple balloons and ribbons, a brick from the high school, purple place mats with trivia questions to discuss and nut cup favors for each one. Pauline Wyse gave a report on Glen Nebel who now resides in Savannah Heights in Mt. Pleasant. Virginia Tschantz read a letter from Anna Mae Roth from Milford, Neb.
There were 22 graduating seniors and only nine are not living. No one has died in the past seven years. The meeting was closed with a humorous reading of, 'When you know you're getting old.” The committee in charge consisted of Pauline Wyse, Virginia Tschantz and Miriam Gowey.
