The Wayland Lions Club held their Sept. 17 meeting at the Your Choice Restaurant. There were eight members and one guest present.
The Pledge of Allegiance was led by President Theresa Ferdig, followed by the Invocation by Lion Bruce Eichelberger.
Secretary Bill Grimm gave the last meetings minutes and Treasurer Terry Kaufman gave the Treasurer’s Report. Both were approved unanimously.
Old Business:
- Wayland Lions successfully staffed the concession stand at Friday’s Football Game. Twelve Lions worked at the concession stand for 3 1/2 hours. All participants had fun and are looking forward to next year.
- Fund raisers were discussed which enable the Wayland Lions Club to contribute to Wayland Communities events. Members favored a chili/soup supper on a date to be determined. It will be coupled with a Silent Auction. Donations should be sent to Theresa or Donna.
- Theresa Ferdig & Donna Kaufman will be coordinating the event.
New Business:
- Meet and Greet will be held on October 24, 2024. Lion Jay Meyer will supply the candy for the event.
- $100 was donated for eyeglasses.
- American Flag brochure will be updated by Theresa Ferdig & Randy Morrow along with program membership list.
- President Ferdig brought in New Wayland Lions shirts which were purchased by 10 members.
Meeting adjourned at 7:05 PM.
