Wayland Lions Club was Charted on April 10, 1958, making 2023 the 65th Anniversary. The members decided to con-celebrate their Anniversary with the Christmas Party at the Wayland Community Center on December 19, 2023. There were 14 members and 16 guests participating.
President Theres Ferdig welcomed the members and their guests and led the Pledge of Allegiance. Secretary Bill Grimm gave the Invocation.
President Theresa Ferdig asked for a motion to delay the formal meeting until the January 16, 2024 meeting, Lion Stan Meyer seconded the motion and the members voted approval.
The members and their guests dined on a delicious meal catered by Julie Pearson, which included a cake with “65th Anniversary on top.”
After the meal, President Ferdig gave her Membership Profile as being 1st Vice President, now President. Theresa has been very active since joining Wayland Lions Club on January 18th, 2022, including many community activities serving Wayland and adjoining communities. Theresa said Wayland Lions Club has provided her with the opportunity for community service, meeting like minded members who have become friends and giving back to the Wayland Community that offers a friendly welcome and many activities that are available. Theresa then called on some members to give their Membership Profile and what Wayland Lions Club has meant to them:
