Wayland Lions Club holds July meeting

The Wayland Lions Club held their July 15, 2025 meeting at “Your Choice Family Restaurant.”
The Pledge of Allegiance was led by President Theresa Ferdig, followed by the Invocation by Stan Meyer.
President Theresa Ferdig passed the Gavel to New President Stan Meyer for the 7/1/2025 to 6/30/2026 term. Also recognized were Terry Kaufman as 1st Vice President and Donna Kaufman as 2nd Vice President, Theresa Ferdig as Treasurer and Bill Grimm as Secretary for the term.
The Wayland Lions Club members welcomed Rudy Roth as a guest.
Treasurer Theresa Ferdig gave the Treasurer’s Report and Secretary Bill Grimm read the minutes from the June 17, 2025 meeting; both were approved unanimously. Treasurer Theresa Ferdig is awaiting the Bill for WACO High School’s Silver Chords Program.
Old Business discussed:
President Stan Meyer updated the members on the July Fourth Independence Day Pancake Breakfast. Attendance and receipts for Donations were about the same as last year’s.
These Funds are designated for the NUSTEP exercise equipment for WAYMAR residents. At this point, we are $700 short for the cost of the NUSTEP equipment after donations, including Wayland Lions Club donation from the Pancake Breakfast.
If you would like to donate to close the $700 shortfall from the total cost please mail your donation to Pilot Grove Bank in Wayland or drop your donation off at the Pilot Grove Bank attention Wayland Lions Club Treasurer Theresa Ferdig.
July Fourth Independence Day Parade sponsored by Wayland Lions Club was enjoyed by all.
New Business:
Ten additional Flags were ordered for Wayland Lions Club American Flag Program.
Labor Day will be the next display of American Flags.
A Wayland Business member is coordinating having American Flags displayed at all Wayland businesses as part of the Wayland Lions Club American Flag Program.
