The Wayland Lions Club met June 16 at the Wayland Community Center. There were 16 members present.
President Randy Morrow opened the meeting and lead the Pledge of Allegiance. Lion Bob Meyer gave the Invocation.
The meeting resumed after a delicious meal prepared by Caterer Alice Hochstetler. Secretary Bill Grimm read the minutes from the March 17, 2020 meeting; then Treasurer Terry Kaufman presented the Treasure's Report and both reports were approved.
President Randy Morrow updated the members on American Flag Program that was implemented this year.
' Memorial Day was the first of five National Holidays, which saw 80 residents flying American Flags.
' Flag Day was the 2nd National Holiday with 84 American Flags flying.
' Independence Day (July 4th) has 87 residents participating.
(The club has some American Flags in stock and the ability to add to this number as Wayland Citizens step up to celebrate their American Heritage)
President Randy Morrow was honored by the membership for managing this program and assembling the American Flags, poles and inground receptacles. Lion Bill Grimm was also acknowledged for introducing the American Flag Program to the Wayland Lions Club.
' Lion Gwen Devaul assisted in setting up the American Flags along with other Lions and several of her students and retrieving them after the holiday.
This is a Wayland Lions Club membership activity that had everyone's support and look forward to expanding with Wayland Citizens.
