Wayland Lions Club Meeting

The Wayland Lions Club held its Jan. 20, 2026 meeting at Your Choice Family Restaurant.
President Stan Meyer welcomed the members followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. Stan led the Invocation.
Secretary Bill Grimm read the minutes from the November & December meetings that had been postponed for the December Christmas Party. Treasurer Theresa Ferdig gave the Treasurer’s Report. Both Minutes and Treasurer’s Reports were unanimously approved.
Old Business:
KidSight program is being coordinated by Lion Jay Meyer. A date to be determined by the school to take the KidSight pictures of the children’s eyes. The KidSight pictures will be analyzed by professionals to determine if there are abnormalities that can be addressed to correct vision problems.
Treasurer Theresa Ferdig updated the members on Wayland Lions “Winter Bag Program.” Bruce Eichelberger & Donna Kaufman assisted Theresa in completing filling the bags and their distribution at the Wayland Community Center. Zack Hammes of Pilot Grove Bank in Wayland assisted & donated sunglasses & other items to the” Winter Bags.” The disbursement of the “Winter Bags” was posted on the Wayland Hub and they were passed out in 90 minutes.
Lion Brian Pattyson gave an update on Guest Speaker Eric Turner for the March 17, 2026 meeting to be held at the Wayland Community Center. Eric’s company JET Physical Therapy’s purpose is help individuals address pain and recovery from injuries. He and his staff work with patients of all ages. Eric is known by many in the Wayland Community for assistance with WACO athletes.

President Stan Meyer thanked the Lion participants that attended the Christmas Party & made it so successful.
New Business:
Wayland Lions Flag Program & Flag Subscriptions were discussed and members approved keeping yearly fee at $35. Lions Randy Morrow reviewing 137 participant member list and President Stan Meyer providing updated registration form to mail them out to existing subscribers.
Lion Brian Pattyson brought up a joint meeting with Winfield Lions to discuss each other’s programs and successes. A similar interest had been expressed previously with the Brighton Lions.
President Stan Meyer presented a 10 Year Chevron to Lion Randy Morrow for his dedication to Wayland Lions Club & his service to the Wayland Communities. The other Chevron was for President Stan Meyer for 60 Years of dedication to the Wayland Lions Club & Wayland Communities.
Stan joined the Wayland Lions Club when he was 24 years old.
