Wayland Lions Club meets

The Wayland Lions Club held their July 19, 2022 meeting at the “Your Choice Restaurant.” There were 16 in attendance.

President Jay Meyer called the meeting to order and led the Pledge of Allegiance.

The Invocation was performed by Lion Roger Roth, blessing the meeting and meal.

Secretary Bill Grimm gave the minutes from the last meeting and Treasurer Terry Kaufman gave the Treasurer’s Report. Both were accepted unanimously.

The meeting resumed after the meal.

July Old Business Discussion:

Wayland Lions Club Pancake Breakfast was a great success. The breakfast sponsored donations to the following programs:

Wayland Area Childcare Organization - $1,200

Wayland Youth League (Bomber Field upgrade - $1,200

Subscriptions for 119 participants have been received for the Wayland Lions Club American Flag Program. The next day for displaying the American Flag is Labor Day on September 5, 2022.

July New Business:

Wayland Lions will welcome the Red Flag Riders into Wayland on Saturday, September 24 at 10 a.m. with their vintage antique vehicles. Refreshments will be served for the Red Flag Riders at the Wayland Community Center at that time. Lions Bill Grimm, Randy Morrow and Bruce Eichelberger will greet the Red Flag Riders.

The Wayland Lions Club voted to have their Christmas Party on Tuesday, Dec. 20,2022 at the Wayland Community Center. Lions Stan Meyer and Theresa Ferdig will organize the event.

Wayland Area Childcare Organization will have a Meal Fundraiser on Sept. 23 evening of WACO Homecoming.

President Meyer adjourned the meeting.

Wayland Lions Club Membership information: Members meet on the 3rd Tuesday of every month. Meetings start at 6:30 p.m. and adjourn around 7:45 to 8 p.m.
