After New Business was handled, Lion Governor Michael Renken discussed the history of the Wayland Lions Club, which was chartered on April 10, 1958.
He recognized the Wayland Lions Club for their service to their communities for the last 64 years. DG Renken congratulated the Wayland Lions Club on the health of their Lions Club, determined by the longevity of membership and securing New Members. He recognized that 8 present members were responsible for bringing in over 17 members and how the Wayland Lions Club Members maintained a legacy of service to their communities.
In addition, DG Renken discussed the international meeting in Montreal and highlighted several important contributions; including the $300,000,000 goal to use as grants and contributions to address the needs of the world to combat disease and disasters; which was surpassed by $25,000,000. In conclusion, DG Renken challenged the members to continue the service of giving; not only to our communities, but also the International efforts of the Lions.
