Wayland Lions Club meets

The Wayland Lions Club held their September 20, 2022 meeting at “Your Choice Restaurant” in Wayland. There were 13 members in attendance.

President Jay Meyer called the meeting to order and led the Pledge of Allegiance.

The Invocation was given by Lion Robert Meyer, blessing those attending the meeting and the meal.

Lion Brian Pattyson gave the minutes from the last meeting and Treasurer Terry Kaufman gave the Treasurer’s Report. Both were accepted unanimously.

The meeting resumed after the meal.

Rose Sales---Stan Meyer said 125 dozen roses committed and 144 sold.

Wayland Area Children Organization received Thank You Note for donation from Wayland Lions Pancake Breakfast.

Janet Sterling inducted as New Wayland Lions member by DG Michael Renken.

President Jay Meyer congratulates Stan Meyer for his coordinating Rose Sale Program over last 20 years. Members applaud Stan’s service & dedication.

September New Business:

Lion Marianne Pattyson discusses update on Potential Smoke Alarm Program. Response by donating Big Box Stores has not been fruitful due to present market conditions. Marianne will continue pursuing.

Discussion of Budget future expenditures:

2023 Graduating Seniors Scholarships & Silver Chord.

Iowa Lions Foundation & Lions Clubs International Foundation

Wayland Area Childcare Organization to be considered.

Halloween Parade to be verified as to time & date. President Jay Meyer to purchase candy for event.
