Wayland Lions Club meets

The Wayland Lions Club held their October 18th meeting at the “Your Choice Restaurant” in Wayland. There were 14 members present and guest Amina Ferdig; who is interested in becoming a Wayland Lion Member.

The Pledge of Allegiance was led by President Jay Meyer, followed by the Invocation by Lion Bob Meyer.

Secretary Bill Grimm gave the last meetings minutes and Treasurer Terry Kaufman gave the Treasurer’s Report. Both were approved unanimously by the members.

The meeting broke for the Dinner.

Old Business:

“Meet and Greet on Main Street” will be held from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM on Thursday, October 27th. The Wayland Lions plan to hand out candy; as in the past, to the children dressed in Halloween Costumes. President Jay Meyer volunteered providing the treats.

Stan Meyer announced that Lion Janet Sterling passed away on October 17, 2022. The Wayland Lions Club Members were saddened by the news.

New Business:

Donations to Iowa Lions Foundation and Lions Clubs International Foundation were discussed and approved.

November is designated as Diabetes Awareness Month. Lion Brian Pattyson is arranging for a speaker on Diabetes for the November 15, 2022 meeting.
