Wayland Lions Club meets

The Wayland Lions Club held their March 18, 2025 meeting at “Your Choice Family Restaurant.” Eight Lions were present.
The Pledge of Allegiance was led by President Theresa Ferdig, followed by the Invocation by Stan Meyer.
President Theresa Ferdig gave the Treasurer’s Report and read the minutes from the February 18, 2025 meeting; both were approved unanimously.
Old Business discussed:
- President Theresa Ferdig updated the status of American Flag Program by Wayland Lions Club. 132 Subscriptions for 2025 with 77 paid and 55 needing payment to continue the program.
- Easter Egg Hunt will be held at Noon Saturday, April 19th. Lion Jay Meyer will secure donation of candy for the event.
- Bev Conrad requested an insert be placed on Wayland City site to advertise the Easter Egg Hunt to be scheduled for Noon on Saturday April 19th.
- July 4th Independence Day Pancake Breakfast will be provided by the Wayland Lions Club.
- Wayland Lions will Sponsor the July 4th Independence Day Parade as in the past.
New Business:
- All Wayland Lions materials, displays and paraphernalia will be stored in the Pilot Grove Savings Bank. Wayland Lions members are requested to bring any items to Wayland Lions President Theresa Ferdig at Pilot Grove Savings Bank.
- Theresa Ferdig said she would be interested in taking over the Treasurer position that Terry Kaufman was retiring from after 15 years as Treasurer.
- Andy McGuire donated his father’s “PIN VEST” from the previous Old’s Lions Club.
- A donation was made for “Special Glasses” needed for a rare genetic disorder called Stickler Syndrome.
- A donation was made to the Brighton Lions Club for “Brighton’s Whoopie Days” scheduled for June 20th to 22nd.
- Wayland Lions Club approved donating the proceeds from the July 4th Independence Day Pancake Breakfast for a NuStep exercise machine for the WAYMAR Community Room.
