Wayland Lions Club meets

The Wayland Lions Club held their May 20, 2025 meeting at “Your Choice Family Restaurant.” Nine Lions were present plus guests, Edward and Linda Dangler.

The Pledge of Allegiance was led by President Theresa Ferdig, followed by the Invocation by Brian Pattyson.

Lion Terry Kaufman gave the Treasurer’s Report and Secretary Bill Grimm read the minutes from the April 15, 2025 meeting; both were approved unanimously.

Old Business discussed:

• Approximately 28 American Flag subscriptions remain to be paid for this year’s program. Past participants names have been removed from the 132 Subscriptions for 2025 due to moving or other verified reasons.

• Andy Eichelberger, who graciously donated a hog for the 4th of July Independence Day Pancake Breakfast.

• Wayland Lions Club will be donating the proceeds from the July 4th Independence Day Pancake Breakfast for a NuStep exercise machine for the WAYMAR Community Room.

• Wayland Lions will Sponsor the July 4th Independence Day Parade as in the past.

• Easter Egg Hunt was held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, April 19th. Lion Jay Meyer secured candy for the event. The Easter Bunny greeted participants. Pictured with the Easter Bunny is Weston Ferdig discussing how wonderful the Easter Egg Hunt is for the youngsters and adults at Parkview.

New Business:

• President Theresa Ferdig read “Thanks You” notes from Joel Meyer & Little Me Daycare for donations made in April meeting.

• July 4th assignments for Wayland Lions Club members will be assigned at the June 17, 2025 meeting.

• Wayland Lion members toured the Daycare Center prior to their monthly meeting on Tuesday, May 20, 2025.

• Wayland Lions Blood Drive will be held on June 5th from 1:30 PM to 6:30 PM at the Wayland Community Center.

• Officers for the July 1, 2025 to June 30, 2026 period will be finalized at the June 17, 2025 meeting.
