Wayland Lions Club meets

The Wayland Lions Club held their June 17, 2025 meeting at “Your Choice Family Restaurant.” Ten Lions were present.
The Pledge of Allegiance was led by President Theresa Ferdig, followed by the Invocation by Stan Meyer.
Lion Terry Kaufman gave the Treasurer’s Report and Secretary Bill Grimm read the minutes from the May 20, 2025 meeting; both were approved unanimously.
Old Business discussed:
Wayland Lions sponsored the June 5th Blood Drive: 1. Quota of 23 units was achieved with a total of 25 units of whole blood collected with one double red. 2. Lion Dona Kaufman was acknowledged for calling potential donors to remind them and set time for donation.
Wayland Lions Sponsor the July 4th Independence Day Parade as in the past.
Wayland Lions Pancake Breakfast will open its doors at 6:30 a.m. at the Wayland Community Center.
New Business:
Ed Dangler was inducted as a New Lion Member of the Wayland Lions Club by Brian Pattyson. President Theresa Ferdig sponsored Ed.
Officers for the July 1, 2025 to June 30, 2026 period were finalized: 1. Stan Meyer President. 2. Terry Kaufman 1st Vice President. 3. Donna Kaufman 2nd Vice President
July 4th assignments for the Wayland Pancake Breakfast were handed out by Lion Stan Meyer: 1. Stan is ordering additional supplies; including take-home containers. 2. A portion of the proceeds from Pancake Supper will be donated for the NUSTEP machine being purchased for the residents at WAYMAR.
Sheri VanElsacher sent a “Thank You” for the special glasses she received.
Justine Lynn and Alyssa Graber sent “Thank You” notes for the $500 Scholarships they received from the Wayland Lions Club. President Theresa Ferdig read the notes along with a “Thank You” note and picture of the graduating class of 2025 WACO High School.
Wayland Lions Club donated towards installation of a New American Flag project that will be displayed a WACO games and other activities.
Wayland Lions Club will be working on an entry for Brighton Lions “Whooppee Day Parade” in Brighton this weekend.
